Learn to Swim

The main focus of the Learn to Swim programme is completing the Stage 1-7 Awards as part of the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme. These awards are divided into progressive stages, forming the core syllabus for primary school-aged children (from four years of age). They are designed to reward children for developing core aquatic skills, ensuring they become confident, competent, and safe in the water.

Classes will be designed working towards one and/or more of the following in each term:

Private Lessons

Semi-private Lessons

Beginners and Early Stages Groups

Intermediate and Advanced Swimmer Groups

Ability Levels

Penguins

Beginners i.e. non-swimmers and able to swim up to 10m

Sea Horses

Able to swim 10 to 25m front and back

Sea Lions

Able to swim 10 to 25m front crawl and back crawl

Dolphins

Able to swim 25 to 50m front and back using two recognised strokes

Sharks

Able to swim 100m using two recognised strokes
